The Early Learning and Child Care Program has an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for an Early Learning and Child Care Consultant in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Program Manager for the Northern region this position is responsible for:
Developing, licensing, and monitoring child care services;
Supporting parents and caregivers;
Assisting community groups and individuals to meet their child care needs;
Actively working towards the recruitment and retention of new licensed family child care providers in the area;
Ensure information about early childhood care and education is available to the public; and
Enforcing The Child Care Act and The Child Care Regulations, 2015.
To be successful in this position you will be a strong verbal and written communicator who is able to:
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of people;
Effectively mediate and negotiate solutions with various stakeholder groups in a diplomatic manner;
Identify needs and issues and determine an appropriate course of action to address concerns;
Independently plan and prioritize responsibilities in order to achieve work objectives;
Prepare and deliver presentations related to child care;
Typically, the knowledge and experience required in this position would be acquired through:
Experience as the Director of a child care centre and related early childhood education;
An equivalent amount of related education and experience will also be considered.
A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license is required as overnight travel to different northern communities is required.
